FarmVille now allows you to rotate buildings
Tonight's FarmVille update brings a long desired feature - the ability to rotate buildings. This is such a commonly requested and overdue feature that FarmVille should have had from the beginning. Since FarmVille is actually an isometric 2D game and not 3D, this meant that the artists would have to make art assets for each of the angles of the buildings. Going back and making buildings rotatable was probably a lot of work for the FarmVille artists - we're sure they pumped out a lot of buildings!
FarmVille's Community Manager Lexilicious has posted a list of buildings on the official FarmVille forums that can not be rotated:
* Stone Cottage
* Clock Tower
* Amber Pavilion
* Weathervane Home
* Green Gazebo
* Deluxe Tool Shed
* Mini Greenhouse

PSA: Farmville used as bait in new "likejacking" scams
It seems some internet ne'er-do-wells are trying to capitalize on the popularity of Farmville to spread spam and unsolicited messages through unwary users' Facebook profiles.
The new Internet attack, referred to as "likejacking" in the security trade, takes advantage of a security hole in Facebook's relatively new ability to "like" any page on the web. Basically, the scam uses hidden Javascript code to turn a harmless looking link into an automatic, unsolicited post of HTML code to the clicker's Facebook News Feed. These malicious posts often contain advertising messages and/or further links that can lead the message to spread further as friends click around their own News Feeds.
As the Sophos security blog reports, attackers are now using offers of "Free Farmville Secrets E-books" as the bait to attract the clicks necessary to activate the scam. Other popular bait subjects include Sex and the City 2, Shrek, bp, free gift cards, UFC and "sexy videos."
How can you protect yourself? Basically the best way is to be careful about what links you click, and to monitor your personal wall posts for any unsolicited messages (you can delete them if you notice them). We hope Facebook will take steps to close this security hole soon, but until then, eternal vigilance is the price of liberty.

Zuma Blitz on Facebook First Look
At Casual Connect in Seattle, PopCap gave select members of the press a first look at their upcoming Facebook game, Zuma Blitz.
Much like Bejeweled Blitz, the Facebook version of the popular game gives you 60 seconds to bust as many balls as possible. The one-minute thing is a bit of a misnomer, however. You can actually shoot special balls that will extend time a little longer, which gives you just enough time to maximize your score. There are also balls with special multipliers that will help you send your score soaring to the heavens.
The social parts of the game are pretty limited right now, and those in the game right now are similar to those in Bejeweled Blitz. There's a living leaderboard at the bottom of the page, and once you get your big score, you have the option to post it to your Facebook Wall for bragging rights. There's talk behind the scenes about adding more social features, namely a way to 'curse' your friends in the game. Once you beat a friend, you can curse them, and turn their Facebook photo on the leaderboard into something else, say, a picture of a sheep or cow. To get rid of the 'curse,' you'll have to beat your challenger's score and pass the curse back to them.
Unlike Bejeweled Blitz, Zuma Blitz will definitely include virtual currency (as in paid for with real-life-cash) that can be used to buy power-ups, which were not finalized in the version of the game we played today. PopCap higher ups have been looking for ways to make money on their social games, and Zuma Blitz will apparently be the first test case. The game will also include experience points system as well.
So far the game seems to possess the same addictive quality as Bejeweled Blitz -- it's just challenging enough that you'll keep going back to see if you can beat your high score. Just make sure you take a break from mousing occasionally so you don't get the dreaded 'Zuma Claw.' (It's real! Honest!) Zuma Blitz will be in beta within the next few weeks, stay turned for more details (and images from the game).
Note: The image above is from Zuma's Revenge, not Zuma Blitz.

Greenopolis launches eco-friendly Facebook game
A lot of companies want to get into the games business. The most recent entrant is Waste Management, who reported revenues of $11.8 billion in 2009.
The company has a wholly-owned subsidiary called Greenopolis, charged with the mission of social awareness around recycling and the environment. A tiered business plan revolves around real-world rewards for eco-friendly behavior. And now the firm is using games to fulfill that mandate.
Oceanopolis lets players play a game like FarmVille, but set on an island paradise, where trash begins to wash up on shore. Instead of harvesting, you recycle. Points then let you decorate your island, and you can visit friend's islands.
Greenopolis on Facebook
The project's creative director, Jeff Smith, says the effect is to view trash as treasure. "You start wanting to pick this stuff up." Beyond the game, players can be rewarded with real-world credits for entertainment and dining experiences.
The company hopes to expand to the iPhone and other platforms. The game launches on Facebook on August 21st and the beta was opened today.

Sony bringing more social games to PlayStation Home
When people think of social gaming these days, they probably think of PC-based social networks like Facebook, or maybe mobile devices like the iPhone. One platform they almost definitely don't think about is the 3D virtual world of PlayStation Home. But Sony and partner Codename are hoping to change that with a new initiative focused on bringing independently developed social games to the service.
VentureBeat reports the first three games to come from the initiative will span an eclectic mix of genres -- from competitive platforming to fantasy role-playing to 3D spatial puzzles -- but all will take advantage of Home's social functions by letting multiple players play and chat together. It's likely the games will follow the freemium, virtual-goods-based revenue model that has already worked well for PlayStation Home games like Sodium One.
It's nice to see Sony slowly realizing that many of Home's millions of users want to use the service for more than just playing dress up and visiting cheesy promotional spaces. The question now is whether these new games will attract the millions of PS3 owners who don't currently use Home. Take it away, Sony marketing machine!

NPD: 20% of Americans play games on social networks
Are you an American? Are you in a room with a lot of people? OK, look at the person to your left. Now look at the person to your right. Now look at a couple of people behind you. Don't stare! You don't want them to think you're weird, do you?
OK, now, would you believe that, according to a new NPD report, one of those people (20%) has played games on a social network in the last three months. It's true.
What's that? You say that person is you? You say that person is obviously you, because you're currently reading a blog devoted to social games? Well I guess that means no one else in your eyeline has played a social games then. Because that's how statistics works, right?
Oh, you're in a cubicle-filled office, you say. In that case, I can almost guarantee all five of you do nothing but play games on Facebook all day, furtively hoping your boss won't notice. But that means somewhere else there are 20 people that don't play social games at work or at home, and they are doing their best to keep our economy going during this downturn. How do you sleep at night?
Anyway, of you and your four Farmville-addicted co-workers, NPD says 1.75 of you (35%) have never played a game outside of social networks and one-half of one of you (10%) actually spends real world money on these games. It might seem odd that fractional people can do either of those things, but hey, the numbers don't lie.

San Francisco takes aim at littering Mafia Wars marketer
If you stumbled upon a pile of $25,000 bills sitting on the street, you'd be overjoyed, wouldn't you? Well, apparently you are not the city of San Francisco, which recently called such bills "sidewalk vandalism" in a recent letter from City Attorney Alex Tse.
OK, to be fair the bills weren't real, but were fakes used as part of a marketing campaign for Zynga's Mafia Wars: Las Vegas expansion. And apparently the bills were actually glued to the sidewalk, which made them a bit difficult (and expensive) for the city to clean up. So maybe you wouldn't have been that overjoyed after all, would you?
Tse initially said he would pursue "pursue every available cause of action aggressively against Zynga for these illegal marketing tactics," but now seems to be focusing their legal efforts on marketing firm Davis Elen Advertising rather than Zynga. The ad agency has reportedly taken full responsibility for the campaign, effectively falling on their sword to protect their client (When did this become an episode of Mad Men?)
Between this fiasco and some recent Snoop-Dogg-related promotional problems in the Nevada desert, Zynga is having a bit of a bad marketing run of late. Then again, if there's no such thing as bad press, then Zynga seems to be getting a whole lot of not-bad press out of both of these snafus.

Quote of the Moment: Leave the Farmville, join the farm
"FarmVille boosters like to say that one of the game's most important virtues is how it encourages cooperation among users. But I think that the game's social networking aspect is where FarmVille's limitations (and, by extension, the Internet's limitations) are most apparent. The open secret of Facebook is that it's not, in fact, a great medium for meeting new people. With the exception of those Facebook users who rack up friends like county fair prizes, most people use the site for either sustaining their existing friendships or rekindling old relationships - the classic Facebook connection of "What have you been up to since middle school?" Facebook is perfect for keeping in touch with the people you already somewhat know; it's not so great at forming totally new relationships. And so FarmVille, dependent as it is on the Facebook model, fails at one of the most important tasks of farming - growing community.
"Just compare FarmVille (where you rely on existing friends to help manage your plot) to Alemany Farm, the four-acre organic garden in San Francisco I help manage. Every weekend, people from across the Bay Area show up at the farm to volunteer. Our volunteers are gay and straight, toddlers and septuagenarians, Black, White, Asian, Latino, eco-punks and boho professionals. Strangers meet each other, bond, and become friends united by a shared passion. In any given workday at the farm, new relationships are created among diverse peoples as they get to know each other face-to-face. Over time, those relationships, soldered by the sweat of hard work, become the bonds of community.
"Of course, that's not the only advantage actual gardening has over the virtual kind. For starters, you get to be outside, and even as you work, you relax, restored by the reconnection to natural systems. And at the end of the day you get the reward of the take-home salad and the sun-warmed strawberry.
"So if you're a FarmVille player, consider this screed an invitation: Drop the mouse. Pick up a spade. Leave the screen and come out into the sun. Get a taste of what it's like to be part of the physical world."
- Change.org Columnist Jason Mark encourages Farmville players to experience the more tangible joys of real farming.

Happy Pets' new Discounted Dragons are Ready to Fire and Fly
Happy Pets Release the Dragons event
After five days of waiting, the Dragon Release Event is here! Already, we've learned plenty of important and exciting things about Happy Pets' newest permanent additions to the pet shop. Keep reading to learn more!
Happy Pets discounted dragons
Happy Pets Green Mythic Dragon shooting fireFirst of all, there are six dragons at the store: White Fable Dragon, Blue Legend Dragon, Red Legend Dragon, Brown Fable Dragon, Green Mythic Dragon, and the Black Mythic Dragon.
After today's 30% discount (which is only available for 6 hours), their prices will go up from 46 Facebook Credits (or $4.60 USD) to 66 FB Credits (or $6.60 USD). Secondly, the dragons require completion of the Dino Den before purchase! This means that players who have yet to build their Dino Dens are probably not going to complete them in time to take advantage of this discount.
Thirdly, Dragons can breed with the T-Rex Dinosaur to produce offspring. Horns and wings are part of the dragon traits, and these six new dragons sport three kinds of horns.
And finally, as you can tell from the image on the right, these dragon babies are definitely of the fire-breathing variety. But it'll take putting one in a room for us to know whether those wings of theirs can rival those of the Parrot.

Mafia Wars MADE Convention coming to Las Vegas October 15-16
Featured in a post on the Mafia Wars blog that has since been brought down, Zynga will be hosting an inaugural Mafia Wars fan convention called "Mafia Wars: MADE" in Las Vegas this October 15 and 16. The big event will be held at the Palms Casino and Resort and feature 12 discussion panels, night club outings and even a "live job" wherein convention goers can earn exclusive prizes. Here's a full list of what will be going down this October:
• Get an exclusive in-game item MADE by entering the Mafia Wars "Get MADE" contest.
• Participate in an exciting "live job" with other players and win in-game prizes and points.
• Select from a list of 12 discussion panels where you can get information and ask questions directly to the team.
• Hang out by the pool, the bar, or the club with other Mafia Wars players and members of the team.
• Purchase limited edition Mafia Wars merchandise.
• Receive in-game items and other gifts from the team.
• Get early access to the next exciting destination.
According to the official blog post, tickets went on early sale yesterday on their Eventbrite page at a 15 percent discount on both "Mogul" (VIP) and "Mafia" (General Admission) tickets, but the discounted Mogul passes--which were going for $399.00--have already sold out. As of this writing, you can still get discounted Mafia passes for $229.00, with standard price being $269.00.
You might want to sit down for this one: regular sale price for Mogul tickets is $469.00. We know, that's probably more than the netbook that you're playing the game on cost you. Check out this discussion thread on the Mafia Wars Facebook page for more details on what might be happening at this exclusive, unannounced event.

Produce your own TV shows with Tellywood
Tellywood isn't a brand new game, it has been around since late June, but it has recently popped onto our radar after being added to the Applifier network. In this game, you are a studio producer who creates new television shows and episodes. It's a neat concept that we haven't seen before in any other games, so we decided to take a closer look and see if the game is fun to play.
In Tellywood, you're given a large plot of land to do with as you please. While you can simply decorate with leisure items to make the space look good, the main point of the game is to build sets for your TV shows. Purchasing a set costs quite a bit of money; in fact, we were only able to test one set. When you build a set, you get to choose from a wide range of genres such as a hospital show, a court show, a police show, or a romance show. We chose "Stranded" because we're big fans of LOST. After you have chosen your show, you get to place the set down on your Tellywood map wherever you'd like.
Once you choose which show you would like to produce, you can cast the show at your Production Center with either your friends (which is free) or with Superstars (which cost Cash). Actions in Tellywood cost Production Points, which is the energy mechanic. When you are setting up a show at your Production Center, you can choose what your budget is for the show. Increasing your budget gives you more XP (referred to as Viewers in Tellywood) and earnings, but costs more Production Points.
If this all feels familiar, it's because it isn't all that original aside from a new theme. There are a couple new mechanics though, such as the Paparazzi. Occasionally you will find Paparazzi on either your studio or your friends' studios. If you collect 20 Paparazzi, you can trade them in for one Production Point. This is an interesting way to earn back your energy faster so that you can play the game longer.
Other than that, Tellywood contains all the makings of a Facebook hit. It has gifting, achievements, neighbors, studio expansions, and decorations. Tellywood uses Facebook Credits exclusively, so in order to buy upgrades for your sets, fancy decor items, and to refill your Production Points, you will need to buy Cash with Facebook Credits. The interface is slick and easy to figure out, and the art in the game is pleasing to look at.
All in all, we think Tellywood is a pretty neat game in a theme we haven't seen before. While it isn't innovating to the extreme, it does feel fresh considering we haven't seen another television production game before. What do you think of the game? Tell us in the comments!

Throw a bangin' dance party at your house with Home Fest
Home Fest game
We're always looking for new Facebook games, and our elite team of new game spies have spotted a fresh choice for everyone to try. Home Fest is a brand new game released a couple of weeks ago that is similar to Nightclub City, but with the setting being your home instead of a club atmosphere. In Home Fest, you decorate your home to your liking, buy attractions such as DJ booths and dance floors, pick your choice of music, and try to make your partygoers happy.
Since Home Fest is pretty new there are many features that are still coming soon, such as gifting. Interestingly enough, the game plays short snippets of music and if you click "Buy Song" you are routed to make a purchase through Amazon using the developer's Amazon Affiliate ID. Home Fest is the first game developed by Atommica, headquartered in Argentina. So far, the game has less than 2,000 total players and could use some love and feedback from our readers!
Home Fest has some of the highest production quality we have seen in a Facebook game yet. This game has promise, but you'll have to check it out and see what you think.

Mafia Wars Italy launches Oct. 23, beta testing starts now for the lucky
A recent blog post on the Mafia Wars Blog revealed that Mafia Wars Italy is currently in beta testing for select accounts and will go live for all players Level 5 and above on Oct. 23. More importantly, Zynga disclosed a few vital details concerning this brand new city.
First, Italy will launch with five Regions: Roma, Palermo, Venezia, Milano and Napoli (hint: they're all Italian names for more familiar locations). These Regions are really just different names for Districts like in Las Vegas, and just like in Sin City, three more Regions will be released later. However, the similarities stop there.
While this second fact is somewhat of a given, Italy will recognize a new currency called Lira, which will function just like Vegas Chips. But there will no Vault in Italy and the banking system will operate just how it does in other cities like New York. And, of course, you'll be able to send and receive Italian Satchels of Lira just like Racks of Vegas Chips.
Lastly, Italy will have three different job paths: Energy, Fighting and Social. This new third path will act just like Social Missions do, requiring players to gather their friends as helpers to complete timed jobs every 8 hours. We honestly don't see players completing all of Italy like this, but it's a welcome supplement to both Stamina and Energy players. It's also obvious that some of these jobs are going to require items bought with Lira, but in surprisingly fortunate news, you won't have to master every path in a Region to move up to the next Mastery tier. (Defeating a Region boss automatically steps you up to the next tier.) And here you thought your weekend was going to be boring.

FarmVille Halloween's next wave of items brings both form and function
Super Chicken
As our favorite day in October approaches, Zynga is bringing out some seriously impressive items to FarmVille for Halloween. Most importantly is the Super Chicken, which for 20 Farm Cash (about $4) will sometimes lay Treasured Golden Mystery Eggs in your Chicken Coop. Finally, some Halloween-themed items with fun features.
But, of course, this is just the beginning. So, follow us behind the cut for the rest of the new Halloween items on the farm.
FarmVille Halloween Items
As for the rest of the new items, they don't stand a chance against... Super Chicken, but they're all pretty adorable. Especially since we have the sinking feeling that there's more to the Ghost Sheep than simply a tomb stone. The Candy Corn Pony is one of the most strikingly colored horses I've seen in FarmVille while the Palm Monster does wonders for our nostalgia.
FarmVille Halloween Costumes
There are also a slew of new costumes that cost somewhat hefty amounts of Farm Cash, but at least they come nothing close to what you'd pay at the local Halloween stores that crop up this time of year. (Well, we'd hope not considering they are digital.)
FarmVille Halloween Clothing
FarmVille Accessories
Lastly, a wide collection of clothing and accessories was added today to help fill that expanding wardrobe. Oddly enough, most of this clothing would never be worn for farm work, but there are sacrifices to be made in the name of fashion.

Zoo Paradise: New nursery allows you to breed animals
Zoo Paradise nursery
Zoo Paradise released a huge feature today with the addition of a new buildable Nursery. This new nursery allows you to breed animals together to make different colored pets for your zoo. However, before you can start breeding it does take quite some time to build the nursery.
The Nursery requires five each of Brown Paint, 2x4 Board, Paint Brush, Bag of Cement, Windows, Bucket of Nails, Case of Shingles, and Hinges. Unlike most games where you can request these items of your friends, these have to be sent to you directly from the gift page. Each day, a new giftable item will become available. This means that you won't be getting your nursery fully complete until you go through a long process of gifting to accomplish it. Of course, you could also buy it for 150 Facebook Credits, or about 15 dollars.
SInce we don't know exactly how great this new nursery will be because ours is still in progress, we can't yet say whether it is worth the credits or the gifting time to receive it It has been a long time since a new mechanic was released in Zoo Paradise though, so we're looking forward to seeing what the nursery holds for the future.

Cupcake Corner gets cozy with new decorations
Cupcake Corner released more items today in an attempt to beat Cafe Life and Baking Life in the competition for the cutest bakery game. The cupcake game has been releasing new decor and recipes at a blinding pace, and Omgpop are clearly poised for success with this adorable game.
First off, there are three new shelving units that look great with the new wallpapers that are now available. There is one shelf with kitchen utensils, one for books (cookbooks probably), and one built-in white bookcase with a nice Craftsman feel. The new stained glass wall lamp is antique yet still has a modern cozy feel to it.
There are two new colors of cow print chairs, brown and black, and new black rose and blue floral wallpapers to give your bakery that custom feel that you've been looking for. Finally, there is a new black votive candle holder that will look perfect in any bakery regardless of the theme.
it's hard to tell which items are brand new and which are leftover from last week, but all of the items are high quality, detailed and great to decorate with.
Do you like Cupcake Corner? Which bakery game is your favorite?

Increase your profits with the Happy Aquarium Coin Potion
Happy Aquarium just loves to whip out expensive items that drastically improve profits or make gameplay more fun. After all, what better way is there to make players take their real pocketbooks out than offering them extreme benefits for doing so? The new 7 Day Coin Potion is another item that will make you wish you had an endless supply of either Facebook Credits or Pearls.
This Coin Potion increases all of your coin profits by 20% for 7 days. This means for all fish and decorations that you sell, you get 20% more for free. If you do a lot of fish raising and selling of items, this is probably a good buy for you. However, it doesn't come cheap. This sucker will cost you either 100 pearls or 83 Facebook Credits, or over $8.00. Yikes. You'll have to do the math to decide if it is worth it to you.
This Coin Potion joins the other potions in the Happy Aquarium store. The Love Potion allows you to mate your fish more than one time per day and comes with 10 units per potion. The Twin Potion allows you to get twins any time you have a successful fish breeding, and also has 10 units. Instead of units, the new Coin Potion just only lasts for 7 days. You better not buy it before you go on vacation!

Dress in equestrian high fashion in new Mall World store
Mall World Country Estates
Not even a week after releasing the lions and tigers store, Mall World has just embraced a more peaceful species of animal with the new Country Estates store. This new fashion shop has everything horse-related for the equestrian in all us ladies. Nothing says elegant fashion like a pair of tight riding breeches tucked into some paddock boots!
Of course, there are plenty of handbags because what fashionable store wouldn't have a modest collection of purses to choose from? The Society Handbag is adorned with a bit of leather along the top, and the Morgan Roundup Bag has an elegant tie holding it closed. The Purebred Leather Handbag really has nothing to do with horses, but we'll let it slide (or ride). We love the little Side Saddle Bag, and the League Handbag would be perfect for just about any occasion.
Let's talk boots, because they're aplenty in this store. From the Scalloped Edge Boots to the Stall Boots to the Mustang Boots, there are some interesting selections that look to be better worn as fashion attire than actual functional riding boots. The wide selection of breeches look to be pretty authentic though, and there is no shortage to choose from.
All in all, the equestrian will be pleased with this new store as the choices are plentiful and it's a unique theme.

Facebook gaming in space: Legacy of a Thousand Suns
Legacy of a Thousand Suns
Lore nerds, rejoice. Legacy of a Thousand Suns, developed by 5th Planet Games, promises to bring a "console-quality" sci-fi epic to Facebook since its launch this week. While the game's uplifting soundtrack, Flash video sequences and deep storyline are certainly epic, for lack of a better word, to say it's "console quality" may force the game to live up to a lot more than Facebook is currently capable of. This is, through and through, a Facebook game, but by no means is that an issue. The game's engaging story text coupled with breathtaking concept art, thanks to studio Concept Art House, make for a story-driven Facebook game that many have been waiting for. I mean, just look at those illustrations, and they're littered throughout the game's missions and raids.
Find out more about Legacy of a Thousand Suns behind the break.
Engaging the Enemy
Much like other combat driven games like Mafia Wars and Square Enix's Knights of the Crystals, Legacy of a Thousand Suns operates on Energy to complete the story's missions--some of which are coupled with short-but-sweet video introductions--and Stamina to tackle the game's Raid bosses. Again, these boss fights are very similar to those found in other combat Facebook games, but make use of the game's robust inventory system. Players can drag and drop weapons and armor they've found in their travels onto their character's body to equip main and offhand weapons, trinkets, armor and utility items.
And what's a sci-fi game without your trusty ship? Ships in Legacy of a Thousand Suns will be collected throughout the story and can be interchanged at any point. But what defines a ship is its crew. During missions you'll also come across willing Crew members and Officers which will fill out your ship's repertoire of willing allies, increasing its capability in battle.
Later on in the game at Level 20, players will be able to form Alliances, which operate more like guilds in games like World of WarCraft than they do lists of friends in other Facebook games. Players don't seem to have to be friends with their Alliance mates on Facebook in order to participate and Alliances seem to provide a pool of allies to help on missions and raids. In fact, Facebook friends seem only to serve two purposes: to help with missions and raids as well as gifting. Not to mention that the game automatically recognizes which of your friends are playing the game, so there's no need to manually add them.

Of course, there are virtual goods to be bought in this game using Golden Suns, its paid currency. Like just about every Facebook game on the planet, this paid currency goes toward powerful equipment and refills of Stamina and Energy. Thankfully, it's available in Facebook Credits as an exact exchange rate meaning eight Golden Suns is equal to eight Facebook Credits, for instance.
While Legacy of a Thousand Suns might hold several similarities to other combat-focused Facebook games, I've yet to see a game with such descriptive story text, beautiful concept art (though, Zynga has been stepping it up with Mafia Wars Italy) and as detailed an inventory system. On top of property management, collections, PvP (think Fights in Mafia Wars) and item crafting through the Lab feature, there is quite a lot to keep players engaged here. The Facebook game for lore lovers has arrived--enjoy your speculative nerd fests on the forums.

Treasure Isle: Garden-building bonus quest lets you grow more fruit
Treasure Isle Build Another Garden
Many of Zynga's games depend on "Energy" to play, and you're always going to hear fans wishing they had more of it. But Treasure Isle has a feature that lets you grow your own Energy -- the Small Garden. Everyone gets two of these at the start of the game. You use them to grow fruit from seeds you buy at the store, then you can harvest the fruit for Energy. Normally, you can buy another Garden Plot for 70 Island Cash, but now there's a way to get one for free!
Treasure Isle Build Garden Bonus Quest
The latest bonus quest, called "Build Garden", has three tasks for you to earn you a free, extra plot. First, you buy a Plough, which you'll find in the Store under "Decorations" for 500 Coins. Secondly, you need to make a hundred digs anywhere you like. Finally, you'll need to get five people to click on your Facebook posts to "Get Some Field Hands" (a.k.a. your fellow Treasue Isle players) to complete the quest.
You can also finish the quest by paying 112 Island Cash, but since you can buy a plot for 70 Island Cash, it's obviously better to do the work yourself. The "Build Garden" bonus quest is set expire on December 6th, so finish it while you can.

Cafe World Baby Shower Catering Order: Everything you need to know
While most Facebook games might have already transitioned fully into holiday celebrations, Zynga has chosen to celebrate another wonderful occurrence in life by adding a new Catering Job to Cafe World that asks users to cater a Baby Shower.
Meet us behind the break for all of the details you need to know on how to finish this catering order, and what you'll receive as a prize if you do.
The Baby Shower asks you to finish a whopping six tasks, three of which are cooking specific meals, and three of which are collecting items from friends.
For the food portion of the Catering Order, you'll need to serve Angel Fruit Cake 113 times, BBQ Chicken 138 times, and Creme Fraiche Caviar 75 times. All of these tasks can be completed either by your lonesome, or with the help of friends, by asking up to 10 of your friends to join you in helping with this catering job. You'll do so by clicking on the "Ask for help!" button in the menu, as seen below. This will let you send requests to your friends to ask them to join your catering crew.
While you're waiting for food to cook, you can go about the task of collecting the other three parts of this job, that being collecting 10 Bottles, 10 Pacifiers and 5 Rattles. Like with other catering jobs, you'll simply need to click on the "Ask" button next to the item you need and then send gift requests to your friends in the hopes that they will send the item to you.
This job starts at a three day time limit, and if you can finish the job within the first three days, you'll earn a 3-Star reward, which equates to 12 catering points, 7,560 Cafe Points, 113,400 coins, and an automatic unlock of the Finger Sandwiches recipe. 2-Star and 1-Star ratings, then, give you less catering points, Cafe Points, and coins, and do not come with access to the Finger Sandwiches recipe.
If you don't think that you'll be able to complete one of these steps in time, you can unlock them for Cafe Cash. The food dishes cost anywhere from 20 to 24 Cafe Cash to unlock (this unlocks the entirety of that particular dish that is required, not just a single serving). The collectible items, though, can only be purchased individually, at a rate of 2 Cafe Cash per individual item (50 Cafe Cash in total, if you chose to go this route).
Remember, with the updated Cafe World Catering system, you can start any job any time you'd like (so long as you have the Catering Points necessary), but if you want the best chance at a 3-Star rating on this job, it would probably be best to start it now, while your friends are probably tackling it as well.

FrontierVille: Zynga Message Center now available for streamlined gift requests
Zynga has finally rolled the Zynga Message Center out into a game that we can all be very happy about - FrontierVille. No longer will we have to accept each ribbon or free meal one by one, as we can now simply click on the red and white Z in the top right corner of the FrontierVille game page to see the menu like the one above, letting you accept all gifts in a streamlined fashion without ever clicking away from the game!
For those with no experience with the Zynga Message Center, this menu will allow you to accept not only the free gifts that your friends have sent to you, but you'll also be able to act on Help Requests - "Can you send me a XX?" - in a much quicker fashion as well.
Unfortunately, accepting a gift in the Zynga Message Center does not remove that request from your Facebook gift requests page, but you can easily go back and hit the "Ignore" button on each of those if you'd like to de-clutter the space.
If you don't have the ZMC in FrontierVille just yet, be patient, as it will be rolling out to users over time.

Social City: Create a home for Santa in the new North Pole District
Attention Mayors! If you're looking for a sure-fire way to put yourself into the Christmas spirit, then check out the newest addition in Social City - the launch of a new free district to players that comes in the form of the North Pole.
Let me say this again, all users now have a new free district to play around in. Not only that, but the land is covered in snow, the starter items are trees that are also covered in the fluffy white stuff, you have a large, literal North Pole surrounded by gifts, and even two Gingerbread Houses that provide residents to your town. What's more, Santa and his troop of reindeer fly through the sky at random - how cool is that!?
Sure, we may be a bit over-excited at the thought of having a Christmas-themed land in Social City, but Playdom must be just as excited, as they have created an entirely new store for the North Pole district, filled with snow covered versions of some of the game's previous items (like the Windmill or Chocolate shop), and all new items, like a Xmas Post Office, Hot Chocolate Shop, and a whole series of snow covered Log Cabins and various Gingerbread-themed goodies.
Don't worry about running out of space up at the North Pole either, as today Playdom announced that they have automatically increased the size of the North Pole district for all players to 27x27 squares, giving you plenty of room for massive snow ball fights, and whatever winter-themed fun you can imagine.

Social City: Spin to win Christmas items in new raffle
If you're as excited about the new North Pole District in Social City as we are, you're probably looking for any additional ways to add themed items to your winter playground. In comes a new holiday-themed raffle to solve this need, as you now have a chance to add 7 more winter-themed items to your North Pole district, by simply spinning to win.
This newest raffle is available via Featured section of the game's store. It costs 8 City Bucks for each individual spin you'd like to do, and there are six items that can be won, at random, for each spin. As usual, there is no guarantee that you won't land on a duplicate item on subsequent spins, so if you're looking to collect all six, you'll either need to be extremely lucky (to land on each item only once, taking just six spins), or be willing to spend a lot of City Bucks to make sure you get them all.
If you are a lucky player that collects all six items, you'll be rewarded with the grand prize - Santa's Workshop, an incredibly decorated and highly animated leisure item that will add 43,000 Happiness Points to your town.
Just as most raffles are time limited, we're guessing that this raffle will only be around as long as the holidays, so start spinning now for your chance to add some exclusive Christmas spirit to your North Pole!
